Interview with Priest reveals...
a nice guy who is devoted
to your spiritual development. Reverend Charles W. Cloud, also known
as Fr. Chuck, sounds like he has a Florence accent! But he developed
that accent in Tucson, Arizona where he was born, and where he probably
developed a taste for Mexican food (his favorite) "the
spicier the better". The
youngest of nine children, he is convinced that most parents save their
best for last. It seems as if "parents
practice until they get it right, then they stop having kids!"
(Hey Father, they're tired
by then!) He divulged that,"the
most entertaining animal (he
had) ever seen",
was his childhood pet, a ferret.
After graduating from Salpointe Catholic High School in 1981, he traveled
to Camarillo, California and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal
arts with an emphasis in Philosophy at St. John's Seminary College.
In 1985, after attending Seminary at St. Johns, Fr. Chuck graduated
with a Master of Divinity. Question: What do you like to do in your
spare time? Answer: "...reading
(sci-fi, horror, and history), computers, and history".
He even admitted to owning
an Atari at one time. Maybe I should let Fr. speak for himself...
My favorite author is Stephen King,
not because of the gruesome stories he tells, but because of his insights
into good and evil. The best thing about Florence is that the parish
is small enough that you can get to know everyone, not just a few families.
What do I want to accomplish in life? I want to make a difference in
other people's lives and bring them closer to God. (
I asked what would he like his obituary to say) What
obituary? I intend to live forever! Really, I hope people remember me
as a good friend...
