Pedro E. Guerrero began his photographic career in 1939 when Frank Lloyd Wright retained him to document his buildings and the Taliesin Fellowship. Guerrero, then twentytwo, began by photographing Taliesin West, Wrights new home and studio outside Scottsdale, Arizona. He soon became an apprentice and moved with the Fellowship to its summer quarters, the first Taliesin in Wisconsin. After serving in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945, Guerrero resumed his work for Wright by being on call to document the architect's new buildings throughout the United States. Based in New York City, he later specialized in photographing the work of sculptors Alexander Calder and Louise Nevelson. Guerrero's photographs have appeared in many books about Wright, Colder, and Nevelson as well as in House and Garden, Vogue, The New York Times Magazine, Architectural Record, and other American and foreign magazines. His work also has been shown in numerous exhibitions in the United States and abroad. Guerrero lives in New Canaan, Connecticut and Florence, Arizona.
