Family Histories:

Pedro Salazar FAMILY

Reverend Bryan W. Sherry, J.C.L.
Church of The Assumption
221 East 8th St.
Florence, Arizona 85232

On this joyous occasion, in the Salazar Family, siblings of Juan Pedro Salazar and Cuca F. Ruiz extend our congratulations on the celebration of the 125th anniversary of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish.

Five generations of our family have belonged to this parish, possibly more. Juan Pedro Salazar, our father, was born in Florence to Andres and Rosa Salazar on June 24, 1902. They had six children; Pedro, Henry, Gabe, Andres, Eliza Salazar Ackers and Adela Salazar Ruiz.

Cuca Figueroa Ruiz, our mother, was born to Froilan and Manuela F. Ruiz on November 5, 1905, in Florence, Arizona. There were nine children; Joe, Froilan, David, Edward, Angelita Ruiz Valencia, Ester Ruiz Orosco, Virginia Ruiz Aruijo, Margarita Ruiz Celaya and Cuca R. Salazar.

Pedro and Cuca married on June 29, 1933, and started a family of their own. They had ten children; Gloria Ortiz, Pete, Arnold, Elenor Garcia, Andy, Lionel, Lionilda Tremont, Evangeline Salazar, Celia Luna and Nellie Lewis.

There are thirty-three grandchildren and twenty-nine great grand children.
