Prayer for the Success of the Renovation
& Expansion Project of the
Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima
Almighty and gracious God, Father of us all, we praise you
and humbly beg you to open our hearts and the hearts of all to
the needs of the Basilica of the National Shrine of Our Lady
of Fatima.
Our Lady's Shrine must be renovated and expanded so that we and
future generations might continue to enjoy the sacramental nourishment,
prayerfulness, reconciliation, serenity, and peace of this magnificent
oasis - an oasis offering living waters to thirsty generations
of God's people.
Lord, help the Barnabite Fathers to find people with generous
hearts to assist in the commencement and completion of this project.
Grace us, dear Lord, with all the means necessary so that we
will be able one day soon to consecrate and bless renovated and
expanded places of worship to meet the needs of God's people
who come to this Shrine seeking the maternal intercession of
Our Lady.
We make our prayer through Christ our Lord.
Our Lady of Fatima - Pray for us.
Blessed Francisco & Blessed Jacinta - Pray for us.

Meeting of Provincial Superiors, Delegates, Formators
and General Administration
[Rome - 4-10 February 2008]
The Superior General's report
touched on both the positive and the negative aspects of the
Congregation's life. On the positive side he listed an increased
cooperation among the South American Provinces and the vocational
health of recent foundations. Among the negative aspects he cited
the overall decrease in membership and the age and health of
most members. He also mentioned various initiatives that will
be promoted in the course of the Pauline year.
The General treasurer gave
a report of the financial health and the financial needs of the
Congregation. Supporting vocations is a financial responsibility
of the whole Congregation.
Provincial Superiors and Delegates
emphasized three topics in their reports: (1) New projects; (2)
Federations; (3) Pauline year.
Formators heard lectures on
"Charism and Formation" by Fr. Giovanni Scalese, CRSP;
"Humanistic character of Barnabite identity" by Fr.
Antonio Gentili, CRSP; "Maturity and affective balance in
formation" by Fr. Benito Goya, OCD; "For a significant
community today" by Fr. Sante Bisignano, OMI; "Formation
of religious in the Code of Canon Law. Theoretical-practical
outline" by Fr. Franco Ciccimarra, CRSP.
They also worked at revising
the Ratio's sections on Postulancy and preparation to
Solemn Profession.
