The
prolonged and loving contemplation of the Greatest Exemplar, who from the
Cross poured out His Spirit - source and soul of mission - has revealed to us
the boundless greatness of the Father's plan: to make Christ the heart of the
world. We have tried to
penetrate into this plan of universal love, drawing light and warmth from the
pre-conciliar and post-conciliar Docements of the Magisterium, from the
missionary heart of our Mother Foundress and from our Rule of Life.
We
rediscovered ourselves Church in a Church which by her very nature is fully
missionary. We are involved as Christians in the same mission of Jesus who
was sent by the Father to announce the Good News to the poor (Luke 4:18) and who
carried out this mission in filial obedience through a total gift of his life.
Christ's
command to the Apostles: "Go out to the whole world, proclaim the Good News
to all creation" (Mark 16:15) rings out within us like a fresh appeal to
our responsibility as Baptised persons, entrusted with the grace of the Spirit
who urges us to share it with those who have not yet received it, or who have
refused it. When we reflect
on our Foundress's insights which have a touch of universality, it appears to us
that the words of Jesus hold a particular charismatic efficacy, for her and
therefore for us. |
