Commitment
to renew ourselves in the Missionary Spirit
Aware that an authentic renewal of the Institute has to draw its vital sap from
a reawakening of the genuine missionary spirit, we suggest some means which seem
to us to be more important and significant:
-
To "rest in the Heart of
Christ Crucified so that with Him we can discover His mandate to us to
evangelise the world.
-
To add a more ecclesial, more
apolostic, more universal dimension to our prayer.
-
To offer suffering, sickness, big
or small occasions of pain for the Coming of the Kingdom on earth and for
the persecuted Churches.
-
To know and to study the new
missiological orientations of the Magisterium so that we may walk with the
Church in the journey she has travelled up to today, led by the Spirit.
-
To take up with courage in our
personal lives and as a community, a lifestyle which is missionary and has
the following characteristics:
-
generosity and ardent zeal
-
detachment from everything and
from everyone
-
boundless fraternal charity
-
gratuity and selflessness
-
keeping only the essentials
-
sobriety and simplicity
-
To foster pastoral work among
youth, and vocational guidance that is open to the different states of life;
also wisely promoting temporary voluntary service.
Prophetic Missionary thrust open to
the whole world
While within the Institute the generous renewal of the missionary spirit is
going on, each Organism is called to promote the apostolic zeal of all the
Sisters operating itself to new fields of missionarity inside and outside its
own geographical boundaries.
The Spirit and the signs of the times
are strongly urging us to express through prophetic witness, our will to keep
ourselves open to the entire world:
-
Opening Communities in
dechristianised areas or in mission zones inside and outside one's own
country.
-
Coupling with a Community in
another local Church for mutual support, exchange of prayer, difficulites
and apostolic initiatives.
-
Welcoming and care of vocations Ad
Gentes within each Canossian organism.
-
Exchange of Sisters among Organism
through the Central Government for temporary services.
