Does it not seem only yesterday that almost everyone was tremulously ushering in the new millennium in the midst of dire predictions? Already eighteen months has passed and yes, it's Canoritá news time again…! Life has sped on with a great number of eventful occasions. So, once again we bring you up to date on the 'happenings' of our Singapore Canossian world of Sisters, Lay Canossians and Friends.
This issue of Canoritá has a number of articles on our Myanmar mission and
even news on our China outreach programme. The General Chapter and subsequently, the election of our Vice- Provincial Sr. Marilyn Lim, as a General Councillor has been quite an episode for us in Singapore. The article on her farewell by Sr Janet Wang, our Provincial Superior effectively captures our hearts' mixed emotions and fond farewell wishes. We have paradoxically lost and gained, and in a spirit of trust and gratitude to God we entrust Sr Marilyn to a wider vision and mission.
There are also poems, extracts of Henri Nouwen and other articles like Fr Michael McGuire's sessions on Achieving Adulthood and Frustration and Anger that will surely keep you absorbed, informed and updated on our vibrant Canossian life in Singapore. We pray and hope that as Canoritá keeps you in touch with us, you will keep us united to you with your prayers.
Yours in Christ,

Editor
