Mission
The mission of Corpus Christi Catholic School is to provide a Catholic
educational experience in spirituality, scholarship and service.
We challenge our children to grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally
and physically. By integrating Gospel values, we promote the practice
of faith, nurture worship, community and service. We inspire our
students to become life-long learners and confident witnesses of
Jesus.
History
Corpus Christi Catholic School opened on November
1, 1964, with four grades taught by lay teachers. In 1966, four sisters
of Notre Dame came to teach in the school. A second classroom building
was added in 1973 that brought the school to a K-8 program. The first
eighth grade class graduated in 1974. In 1978 the school cafeteria/parish
center and library were added. Construction on our last addition
concluded in the spring of 2003 that included a new library with
a computer lab along with a new wing for PreK-Gr. 2 and an art studio.
Corpus Christi Catholic School now has an enrollment of nearly three
hundred students in an early childhood program through grade eight. The
academic program
offered at the school follows the guidelines prescribed for elementary
schools by the Diocese of St. Petersburg and the Florida Catholic Conference.
A variety
of after-school athletic activities are available.
