Updates to: directory@webs.win.net
Monthly updates posted since April, 1995 at The Catholic Internet Directory Site
Electronic mailing lists are automatic computer programs which send a letter or other communication to thousands of E-Mail addresses at a single time. These are most often used to send free newsletters, known as "Mailing Lists"..One of the nicest features of these lists is that most allow you to submit your own material to be sent out to the list as a whole, usually with approval of the maintainer of the list.
To add (type your name) to any of the lists below, you need to send an E-mail message to the computer which sends out the list. You will give it a command to add your E-mail address to the list. Your message will look like this:
SUBSCRIBE Name-of-List Your-Name
For example, to subscribe to the Worldwide Marriage Encounter List, you would E-mail this message:
SUBSCRIBE WME-L Your-Full-Name To this address: listserv@american.edu
If you wish to stop receiving messages from a particular list, simply send the following message to the same E-mail address:
UNSUBSCRIBE Name-of-List Your-Full-Name
Catholic Mailing Lists: 1) While not an exhaustive list, the following represent the main body of Catholic lists.
2) "CIN" refers to the Catholic Information Network, as described in Chapter 13

known as computer participation systems, the Church is offered
further means for fulfilling her mission. Methods of facilitating communication and dialogue among her own members can strengthen
the bonds of unity between them. Immediate access to information
makes it possible for her to deepen her dialogue with the
contemporary world."
-- Pope John Paul II, World Communications Day, May 27, 1989
