A Handbook of Theology of Energy* Publications The English Series: Vol. 1 Energy and Environment: The spiritual-human-material nexus The first and second editions of this work were originally published by The Edwin Mellen Press, Lewiston, New York, in 1992 and 1993. The present 2009 edition (210 pages) is a reprint of the 2001 "improved" second edition published by Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist. Vol. 2 Carriers and Radiators of Divine Energy The present 2009 edition (220 pages) is a reprint of the original edition published by The Edwin Mellen Press, Lewiston, New York, in 1995. Vol. 3. A Comparative Study between St. Thomas Aquinas's Concept of Ipsum Esse Subsistens and the Concept of Qi in the Guanzi's Four Daoist Chapters (a contribution to the ongoing development of Fu Jen School of Thought) This 2009 edition (327 pages), i.e., Volume 3 of A Handbook of Theology of Energy, is a reprint of the author's Ph.D. thesis published at Fu Jen Catholic University, Sinjhuang, Taipei, Taiwan, in March 2008. In retrospect, this doctoral work, supervised by Prof. Vincent Shen, Lee Chair in Chinese Thought and Culture at the University of Toronto, was a serious testing ground for the development of Fu Jen School of Thought conducted in terms of qi. Praise be to God and a word of gratitude is due also to the supervisor. Vol. 4. Radiation of the Holy Eucharist Click Vol. 4 in pdf for the electronic copy , courtesy of Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist. There have been so many good comments on this volume. For example, a senior Rev. professor in the U.S. says that he absolutely loves this book. Another Canadian Catholic lady says it is smashing. (These are North American expressions for something truly excellent.) Hence, feel free and enjoy it! Praise God! Praise God! (Nov. 12, 2010) Vol. 5. From Being to Energy-Being: An Emerging Metaphysical Macroparadigm Shift in Western Philosophy Click here on December 8, 2010 for the electronic copy, courtesy of Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist. The hard copy is published by Grace Institute of the Holy Eucharist. Praise God! Alleluia! (Dec. 28, 2010) Vol. 6 Charismatic Lectures: Towards the Energy Approach Written quite a few years ago, this first draft will require upgrading and proofreading before publication. It can be looked upon as a contribution to the future charismatic development of theology at Fu Jen. (Update: Nov. 1, 2010) Vol. 7 Energy in the Natural Theology of Teilhard de Chardin Written quite a few years ago, this first draft will require upgrading and proofreading before publication. Nonetheless, this work may also be taken as a contribution to the future development of theology at Fu Jen, in view that Teilhard's Prelife-Life-Thought-Superlife schema of Centrogenesis, evolving via the Cosmogenesis-Biogenesis-Noogenesis-Christogenesis process, can be explained through various kinds of qi, in particular in terms of the processive, unifying, energetic activation of the omnipresent Truth, Goodness, Beauty, and Holiness. Teilhard states: "It is around Christianity (considered in its 'phyletic', that is to say its Catholic, form) that the main axis of hominization is becoming ever more closely defined." (Christianity and Evolution, p. 186) (Nov. 1, 2010) Vol. 8. Uncreated Energy in Petro Bilaniuk's Concept of Eschatological Fulfillment Written quite a few years ago, this first draft will require upgrading and proofreading before publication. Nevertheless, this work may also be taken as a contribution to the future development of theology at Fu Jen, in the sense that the Uncreated Energy in Petro Bilaniuk's concept of eschatological fulfillment corresponds coherently well with the Uncreated Qi of Verum, Bonum, Pulchrum, and Sanctitas in their eschatological fulfillment. (Nov. 1, 2010) Vol. 9 Metaphysics of Relation: A Christian Approach (Guanxi Xingshangxue - a contribution to the development of philosophy and theology, East and West) Advised by Rev. Prof. Luis Gutheinz, S.J., this book is be co-authoring slowly with Prof. Russell Sawa, M.D., Ph.D. (philosophy), associate professor of Family Medicine at the University of Calgary. As a collection of essays, this project may take quite a few years to complete. Praise be to God! (Dec. 20, 2010) Vol. 10 Processive Models of the Most Holy Trinity In view of the process of the Most Holy Trinity ad intra (towards or reaching inside), the Most Holy Trinity ad extra (towards or reaching outside), and the fulfillment of the Most Holy Trinity ad extra, this volume describes the Holy Trinity in various processes, i.e., as the Uncreated Trinitarian Family (Familization), Transformer (Triniformation), Light or Lumen (Lumenization), Energy (Energization), Love or Agape (Agapization), Happiness or Joy (Joyfullization), Heaven (Heavenization), Church (Ecclesification), and All (the process of All-in-all), etc. In addition, these processive models are energized, making the Most Holy Trinity dynamic, all-embracing, all-permeating, transradiating, and interactive with all creation, etc. In fact, some of these models have been used in the development of theology at Fu Jen. One may even say that, as a whole, the development of Theology of Energy takes place within these different all-embracing Trinitarian processes. Upon publication, this book is just a gradual accumulation of these Trinitarian models used over the years for the future development of theology at Fu Jen. (Nov. 1, 2010) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The Chinese Series: Vol. 1. Zhongguo Qi Shenxue Fazhan Zhi Chuyi (A Proposal for Developing a Chinese Theology of Qi) This work (129 pages) was published by Fu Jen Catholic University Press, Sinjhuang, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2003. Written succinctly, this first volume of a series may be looked upon as a solid, creative groundwork for the future development of theology at Fu Jen conducted in terms of qi. Further developed, or rather, much more further developed, the all-embracing-and-unifying concept of qi might become a brilliant problem-solving paradigm assisting this Theology of Qi to become, among others, a 21-century comprehensive theory of everything. (Update: Nov. 1, 2010) Vol. 2. Jidu Qilun (Christology of Qi - a contribution to the development of theology at Fu Jen) For practical reasons, this volume is going to be published by the Fu Jen Catholic University Press, hopefully by early February 2011. Praise be to Our Lord Jesus Christ and a word of gratitude is also due to all the wonderful advisors! (Update: Nov. 21, 2010, Feast of Christ the King) Vol. 3. Xiang Qi Minzu Fu-chuan Yesu Jidu (Evangelizing Jesus Christ to the People of Qi) This is a unique contribution to the future development of evangelical theology at Fu Jen. In the planning stage, the author has started to observe one of the fastest-growing evangelical churches in Taiwan on some Sundays. Advised by Rev. Prof. Louis Aldrich, S.J., this book is to be co-authoring with Rev. Raphael Ling, Dr. Constance Chan, D.D.S., and Prof. Francisco Chang. Instead of writing just one book on Christology (vol. 2) in accordance with the original plan, the author is being led to write the present volume and Jidu Qilun and Xile Xue (Science of Joy) as a triology of Christology. Is it not only natural that after enjoying the omnipresent Christ and His great joy (vol. 2), that we have a duty to share or bring Him to others (vols. 3 and 4)? Alleluia! A grateful word is also due to all the pertinent advisors! (Update: Dec. 16, 2010) Vol. 4. Xile Xue (Science of Joy - a contribution to the development of theology at Fu Jen, emphasizing the Christian mysticism of joy) This volume is taking the Most Holy Trinity as the Infinite Happiness Itself in the process of sharing Its Omnipresent Happy or Joyful Energy with all creation through Christ the one and only one Mediator between the Uncreated and created realms. The author is taking time to expand into the present volume what constitutes the last second chapter in Christology of Qi. Alleluia! A grateful word is also due to all the wonderful advisors! (Nov. 21, 2010) Vol. 5 Selective Outlines The present volume is a gradual collection of various outlines. Oftentimes, one may discover more insights in less contents as in a power point presentation. These outlines, therefore, are presented here as an effective aid to understanding various themes or topics of Theology of Qi. (Update: Dec. 26, 2010) Vol. 6 Fu Jen Qi Theology in the Future Development of Chinese Civilization As a contribution to the advancement of theology at Fu Jen, this volume is a collection of pertinent articles with respect to the future development of Chinese civilization. This work is advised by Rev. Prof. Mark Fan, S.J., senior professor of theology at the Fu Jen Faculty of Theology, as well as by Prof. Bernard Li, founder of Fu Jen School and present president of Fu Jen Catholic University. Prof. Paul Kwong would contribute in due time. Apparently, this book may take a long time to complete. (Update: Dec. 17, 2010) * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This page is updated on December 30, 2010. The author is very happy to continue developing Philosophy and Theology of Qi or Energy for God and His people at the Fu Jen Faculty of Theology. A word of gratitude is due to the guidance of the Holy Spirit and to the intercession of countless Saints and Holy Angels, including Rev. Fr. Matteo Ricci, S.J. , as well as various wonderful friends in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Canada, U.S., and even Europe and China, etc. Simultaneously, a word of appreciation should be given also to Rev. Prof. Augustine Tsang, S.J., Dean of the Fu Jen Faculty of Theology, as much as to Prof. Jesus Munoz, S.J., Secretary of Theology, Prof. Mark Fang, S.J., Prof. Luis Gutheinz, S.J., and Emeritus Prof. Aloysius Chang, S.J., etc. Alleluia! Alleluia! ** Theology of Energy is a new renewing theology, attempting to help many appreciate traditional theology as never before, in terms of "energy" or "qi" as a universal model of explanation. Apparently, there are at least five kinds of A Handbook of Theology of Energy: (1) The perfect one/ It exists only in the mind of God; (2) The present one/ Imperfect as it is, each volume may be viewed as a special handbook or outline to bring forth some of the best possible ideas of Theology of Energy to our attention according to that particular theme; (3) A better one/ As an individual volume, it has to wait until the author's next opportunity. As a whole series, a better Handbook of Theology of Energy has to wait for re-organization and further substantiation as a system after the present one is completed; (4) A better one of a better one/ It has to await further re-organization and re-substantiation after a better one is completed; (5) Other ones/ They are to be written by some other author(s), seeing that the present one or a better one (or a better one of a better one) is still imperfect. Hence, the present one is immensely important, for it serves to stimulate, among others, the increasing interest and passion of many towards this new renewing theology for the Catholic Church which we love. Apparently, by the grace of God (1Cor 1:31; 2Cor 10:17), this may be the only place in the world which is actively doing this Theology of Energy or Qi as a theological theology of every thing, energy or qi. If it is wrong, please kindly correct us. Praise God! Alleluia! *** There are two ways in supporting the development of Fu Jen School., i.e., the direct way and the indirect way. Oftentimes, the indirect way may prove more effective, since the Fu Jen School is so novel to many scholars. For further contacts, email: graceinpress@yahoo.com
