Angel Care—Erasing the Need for Abortion
“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16 (NIV)
Angel Care is a special ministry whose members provide items needed by abortion-vulnerable women who have chosen to give birth to their babies. Angel Care has provided assistance to thousands of mothers in Monroe County since its founding in 1985. Last year alone, 288 women received clothes, car seats, cribs, and other items for keeping their children safe.
Angel Care is funded completely through charitable donations, and all its members are volunteers. We are in need of prayers, donations, and more volunteers.
prayers:
- for the support of a culture of life from conception to natural birth
- for the continuation of efforts to work for social justice
- for the health and safety of those living in poverty
- for our political and church leaders, that they receive the wisdom and courage necessary to work for the protection of life in all its stages
donations:
- of onesies and sleepers for infants of ages 0—24 months
- of crib sheets, blankets, and safety bumpers
- of diapers, baby wipes, powder, and diaper bags
- of cash for paying our telephone bill of $30 a month
- of cash for purchasing new cribs and car seats (Health regulations do not permit us to give away these items used.)
volunteers:
- to launder donated clothing, sheets, and blankets
- to transport crib and car-seat purchases from stores to Guardian Angels Church
- to receive telephone messages and contact social workers and mothers in need
- to assemble items for distribution to mothers and children
- to organize and inventory donated items
- to meet mothers at Guardian Angele Church to deliver requested items
- to monotor local business advertisements for sales on car seats and portable cribs
