Practicing Stewardship
Jesus Christ is God’s greatest gift to us all. Stewardship tells us to share a portion of our time, talent and treasure so that the Gift, Jesus Christ, may be given to those who do not know Him. At Guardian Angels Church, we offer you the opportunity to become involved in the following kinds of stewardship:
-
stewardship of talent, which arises from the fact that God has given each of us the ability and gifts to do certain things well and we are able to develop those talents for the good of others. We are invited to search out our talents, nurture them and help them to grow, then share them with each other. At Guardian Angels, we have many ways to share your talents.
-
stewardship of treasure, which is equally as important as giving of our time and talent. Since God does not hold back on any area of His giving, so we are not to hold back on any area of our giving, especially in the crucial area of supporting our parish, diocese, Catholic schools and community organizations. When we give, we receive the grace of God. That grace informs the heart and mind of His will and the way to carry that out.
-
stewardship of time, which involves being with God in prayer and worship, sharing our love with family and friends, and volunteering our time in church and community activities that help others and promote justice. Stewardship-of-Time activities also include fundraisers such as Bingo, our yearly New-to-You Sale, and car washes.
"God has given to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God's generosity can flow through you." (1 Peter 4:10 NLT)
