Children's Liturgy of the Word
"Let the children come to me and do not hinder them. It is to just such as these that the kingdom of God belongs." (Mark 10:14)
Children's Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) occurs during the 10:30 Liturgy on Sunday between the First Reading
and the Intercessory Prayers. Children are invited to gather in a
room away from the congregation. Here they read
the scriptures and hear the Gospel, after which the readings are explained to the children at a
level appropriate to their age. After the readings, the children have the opportunity
to ask questions and explore the Word at a deeper level. When the readings and questions are finished, the children return to resume the Liturgy with the rest of the congregation.
Children's Liturgy of the Word is open to any child ages 4 through 11 who is attending
church that Sunday and who wishes to participate. Parents are welcome to accompany their
child. Sign-up is not necessary. Anyone who would like
more information or is interested in teaching the Word to children
is invited to contact Suzanne Stack at 334-6412.
"Whoever welcomes one such child for my sake welcomes me." (Matthew 18:5)
