Mission Statement

Holy Cross parish is a diverse Christian community which gathers to worship and pray, giving mutual support, growing spiritually and interacting joyfully. We seek to live the gospel message of Jesus Christ as it challenges us daily. We feel that our diversity adds to our strength.

Guided by the Holy Spirit and nourished by the sacraments and teachings of the Catholic Church, we pledge to participate in the liturgical, educational and social ministries of our parish and the larger church and to provide the spiritual, physical and financial resources these ministries require.

We reach out in service to the larger community in which we live. We welcome and accept anyone who wishes to join us in our spiritual journey.

Special Collection The special diocesan collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development will be taken up next Sunday. CCHD's emphasis is on job creation and business development for low-income persons. For 30 years CCHD has been the forerunner of this approach to effectively limiting the impact of poverty. CCHD now needs more funding than ever to help meet the increased demand for this type of assistance. CCHD is a "hand up", not a "hand out" program, which is actively supported by U. S. Catholic Bishops and Pope John Paul II. Thirty-four nationally funded projects have been funded in Arkansas (usually $25,000 or more) and 87 locally funded projects. Right to Life is about providing every opportunity for every person regardless of race, religion, culture, sex or age to develop and become all they can become. That is the mission of CCHD in this country.

Stewardship:

Giving to God out of gratitude the first portion of the time, talent and treasure which God entrusts to us is fundamental to the practice of our Catholic faith. We encourage the regular use of envelopes for monetary contributions. A special collection for the building fund is taken up on the second Sunday of each month. Envelopes are available in the parish office.
