Stewardship
Here there cannot be Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scyth’ian, slave, free man, but Christ is all, and in all.
“You know well enough that Our Lord does not look so much at the greatness of our actions, nor even at their difficulty, but at the love with which we do them.”
-St. Therese
Feast of the Assumption
Wednesday, August 15th we celebrate the Assumption of Our Lady. Masses for this Holy Day of Obligation will be celebrated as follows: Tuesday evening, August 14th our Annual Outdoor Liturgy at 7:00PM at the Grotto. This Mass has always been dedicated to the men from our parish who gave their lives protecting our country during World War II. Their names are inscribed on the memorial plaque at the Grotto.
Wednesday August 15th Masses are at 7:00AM, 9:00AM, and 12:00Noon.
Below is an excerpt from the report of McKinnell, McKinnell & Taylor, the structural engineers who were commissioned to investigate the structure and other issues related to replacing the roof on the Church.
“Our site observations of March 22, 2007 generally confirmed that the roof structure was constructed in accordance with the Architectural Drawings, Structural Drawings and the Unadilla Shop Drawings. The roof structure appears to have performed satisfactorily over the years, there was no indications of overstressed or failed elements or excessive movement. Foundations appear to be performing adequately as well. The proposed new roofing system will increase the dead load by 3 ¼+/-psf, this corresponds to an increase in total load (dead load + live load) over the original loading of approximately 5 percent. An increase of this magnitude is not expected to appreciably affect the overall performance of the roof structure.”
