The First Holy Communion at the Holy Family Cathedral was held on May 4, 2001 at 10.00 a.m. The communicants had their first confessions a day earlier on May 3, 2001.
The celebration started with a procession of the First Communicants to the Cathedral at 9.50 a.m. The Holy Mass started at 10.00 a.m. and was concelebrated by the Vatican Chargé d'Affaires - Msgr. Giuseppe De Andrea and visiting priest - Fr. Paul Sequeira and assisted by Deacon Sylvester.
The number of First Communicants totalled 142 ( 72 boys and 70 girls ). The children were very enthusiastic to receive the sacrament of First Holy Communion and took part in the celebration whole-heartedly.
We convey our
sincere thanks and appreciation to the Sisters, the Catechists,
the pastoral helpers and others who helped make this
occasion a very special one for our First Holy Communicants.
