The Sacrament of Confirmation was held on 25 May, 2001. The children made their confession a day earlier on 24 May, 2001.

The celebration began with a procession of the 185 candidates ( 91 boys and 94 girls) to the Cathedral at 9:45 a.m. The Mass was concelebrated by H.L. Bishop Francis Micallef, and Vatican Chargé d'Affaires - Msgr. Giuseppe De Andrea and assisted by Deacon Sylvester.

Bishop Micallef and Msgr. Giuseppe De Andrea conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation on the boys and the girls, respectively. The Confirmation Sponsors for the boys were Mr. Brian Rodrigues and Mr. Dominic Fernandes, and those for the girls were Ms. Ida Dias and Ms. Aurora Fernandes.

Thereafter, three children received their First Holy Communion.

The ceremony was a happy and very meaningful one for all the candidates. Sincere thanks go out to the Clergy, Sisters, the Catechists, the pastoral helpers and all who helped to make this occasion a special one.
