VICARIATE OF KUWAIT PASTORAL COUNCIL
Notification from the Bishop's Office to the Catholic Faithful of Kuwait

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Peace be with you!
I am happy to inform you that we have established our first Kuwait Pastoral Council (KPC). It is an advisory body which will collaborate with the Bishop in SEEING our reality, JUDGING it, and DOING the needful for the good of our Vicariate.
The members are invited:
1) to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ,
2) to implement communion and unity among the different communities of the Vicariate, so they don’t represent any association, but, all the faithful of a particular community,
3) to support, help and advise the Bishop and the priests in their ministry,
4) to be engaged in a particular way in proposing the Gospel to those who are far from the Church (a missionary aim).
They are elected by a community or chosen by the Bishop or by the priest in charge of a specific community. Canon Law states: A pastoral council is composed of members of Christ’s faithful who are in full communion with the Catholic Church … and selected in such a way that the council truly reflects the entire portion of the people of God which constitutes the Diocese (Can. 512).
Brothers and sisters, along with this letter, is a list of the KPC members. I want to make this publicly known so that you may be able to communicate your ideas and your concrete proposals to the member who is closest to you. I would like that we all work together, as was our spirit at the end of our first Unity Congress in September 2009. You are all invited to share in our pastoral work; we need your suggestions, encouragement and patience.
At the same time, I ask you to pray for the members of the KPC, for our priests, religious and for me, your bishop. May God, through your constant intercession, have mercy on us and send us His Holy Spirit, the true Counselor of our mission: "He will lead you to the complete truth" (Jn.16:13).
God reward you for your prayer, collaboration and generosity and bless you all.
