The Vicariate Apostolic of Arabia

The Apostolic Vicariate of Arabia has its headquarters in Abu Dhabi and comprises the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Yemen. (The See of the Aden/Arabia jurisdiction was in Aden (South) Yemen, until 1973.)
The Apostolic Vicariate of Aden was established in 1888. In 1889 it changed its name to become the Apostolic Vicariate of Arabia.
Since 1916, the Vicariate of Arabia has been in the care of the Capuchins of Florence (Province of Tuscany) who are responsible for the custody with the support of the General authorities of the Order.
