On Tuesday nights, sixth through eighth grade students from Our Lady of Lourdes and other near-by Churches gather to participate in our Junior High Youth group.  We strive to incorporate spiritual, service and social aspects into our gathering.  As part of this, we have three types of meetings.  They all include the three aspects, but focus on one in particular.

Group Meetings - These are the typical gatherings for Junior High.  Our discussion topics rotate on a two-year cycle.  This cycle is soon to change to a three-year cycle so sixth grade is not the same as eighth grade.  The discussion focuses around the spiritual component to youth group, but also includes the social and hopefully encourages the service. 

Social Gatherings - Although not as frequent as Group meetings, social gatherings allow the students to enjoy the company of their peers in a safe and spiritually minded atmosphere.  These gatherings include seasonal parties, go-carting, and other fun oriented activities.

Service Projects - About once a month the youth group participates in a service project.  One of the more popular projects is working with a group from the Westerloe home for mentally handicapped persons.  The youth are able to work and have fun with the visitors, whether it is making Christmas decorations or carving Halloween pumpkins.
