Catholic Daughters of the Americas is a national women’s organization involved in a vast scope of charitable work in all fields, beginnig at the Church and parish level and extending into many concerns of today’s society. The Catholic Daughters address the needs of society that deeply affect today’s generation, our youth, the elderly, and human life. The organization reaches out to make a difference in the lives of those who are suffering, regardless of circumstances.
Court St Malachy has a membership of 150 women, many of whom serve our parish as Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Sacristans, Religious Education Teachers, choir members, organists, and wherever else there is a need. Among the many service and charitable projects our court undertakes, we have constructed the parish Prayer Garden, sell religious articles after Masses twice per month, and sponsor a $500 high school scholarship to a local graduating senior each year. Our local court also sponsors the annual Education Contest for Religious Education students and adults of our parish as well as bringing spiritual plays and cultural concerts to the community of Tehachapi.
At Christmastime, Court St Malachy delivers baskets of cheer to the homebound of our parish and the greater community of Tehachapi. We sponsor fund raising dinners to support the less fortunate in our area and give to those in need regardless of religious affiliation. If you have ever wondered what you could do to help the less fortunate, improve your spiritual life, and take an active role in the parish - join CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS.

Knights of Columbus
Monsignor Harry Eggert Council 7821
The Knights of Columbus is the foremost Catholic men’s service organization. It was founded in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney in the basement of St Mary’s Church, New Haven, Connecticut. It’s primary purpose at its founding was the to provide financial support to Catholic widows and orphans. From its humble beginnings, the Knights of Columbus has come to provide for its members one of the most highly rated insurance programs in the world. In addition local Knights of Columbus organizations (known as councils) annually provide hundreds of thousands of hours of service and millions of dollars of financial assistance to local churches, communities, and youth.
Monsignor Harry Eggert Council 7821 was formed at St Malachy Church in May of 1981. Monsignor Eggert Council has an energetic program of charitable service to the communities of St Malachy’s and Tehachapi. Our two major annual programs are our Christmas Basket Program, which provides food and Christmas gifts to approximately 150 needy families from throughout the local community, and our Annual Charity Chicken Barbeque. The Charity Chicken Barbeque is held in September and the proceeds traditionally go towards assistance of a member of the community with severe medical needs. To support our charitable programs, Monsignor Eggert Council prepares and serves barbeques and other meals at local festivals and for other special occasions. Our largest annual fundraiser is selling Tri-Tip sandwiches at the two-day Tehachapi Mountain Festival in August. While we have prepared a broad range of meals, we are best known for our delicious Tri-Tip
