The Hierarchy of the Church
The Holy See (in English): The Holy See refers to both the episcopal jurisdiction of the Bishop of Rome (the Supreme Pontiff or Pope) over all the church and to the Roman Curia and other offices and services which assist the Pope in the governance of the church.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB): The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of all the bishops of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands who jointly exercise certain pastoral functions on behalf of the Christian faithful of the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Archdiocese of Los Angeles: St. Malachy Parish (and the entire Diocese of Fresno) lies within the boundaries of the Ecclesiastical Province of Los Angeles, led by Archbishop José H. Gomez, the Archbishop of Los Angeles, in his role as the Metropolitan of the Province. The role of the Metropolitan Archbishop of an ecclesiatical province is largely ceremonial now, but historically carried substantial administrative powers.
Diocese of Fresno: St. Malachy Church is a parish of the Diocese of Fresno, led by Bishop Armando Xavier Ochoa.
