OLBS PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION
IT IS TIME TO ENROLL! 2008-2009 SCHOOL YEAR
Preschool registration has begun for the 2008-2009 school year. Please contact Karen Liberato at 843-4177 for information about our three year old and four year old programs. Registration forms and brochures are available.
Registration is going very well with only a few spots still available. Spread the word! Thank you.
LITTLE SPROUTS
Spring has sprung in preschool. The Caterpillar and Grasshopper classes are "growing" a flower garden and a butterfly tree in their classroom. The Cricket Class has planted seeds to learn about plant growth and parts of plants. They have planted beans, lettuce, and radishes. They are also watching carrot tops sprout.
We all enjoyed a wonderful Easter celebration in March complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny (Thank You, Mr. Kellam!), our annual Egg Hunt, and our Easter parties. Some cute little chickens, bunnies, and even a goose visited with us, too. Also in March, we enjoyed a field trip to Squirrel Hollow Farm in New Kent. What a wonderful experience for all! The children saw ducks, chickens, turkeys and goats up close. Many of the children held a baby goat in their arms. Everyone went into the chicken coop and came out with a fresh egg to take home.
Karen Liberato
Preschool Director
Laurie Hite is head teacher of the Caterpillar and Grasshopper Programs. Laurie has been important to the preschool’s success over the past five years and will do well in her new responsibilities. She brings many years of experience and bright ideas to her different position within the preschool.
Joyce Gove will continue to work as the teacher’s assistant for the Caterpillar and Grasshopper Programs.
I will continue to work as your director of the preschool and head teacher of the Cricket Program.
Judy Harrell is the teacher’s assistant in the Cricket Program. As a former elementary school teacher, she brings much experience to our staff.
I thank the parishioners for all of their support of the preschool through kind words, prayers, the preschool assistance fund, and donations of miscellaneous supplies (i.e. paper towel tubes, paper egg cartons). I have enjoyed serving our parish as the preschool director and as a teacher. It has been a rewarding experience to work with the staff, children, and families. I look forward to the next school year.
