The Church of Sts. John and Paul presents a "Womb to Tomb" education
program to meet the needs and interests of parishioners. This program is
formed to make education a part of the life long process of journey. Our
program is designed to appeal to the heart and touch lives on an age appropriate
level. Mixed age group experiences are offered, as well as single age group
sessions. By focusing on these concepts we hope to offer a multi-level,
multi-faceted program that will be dynamic and exciting for all who chose
to attend. We pray that the experiences that will be shared will bring
our parish family to more of a commitment and a conversion in Christ.
PARISH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM
The Religious education program at Sts. John and Paul is responsible
for the religious education of the children in our parish who attend public
school. We have over 400 students in grades K-8 enrolled in the program.
Classes are held at Sts. John and Paul School on Wednesday afternoons for
grades 1-5, Wednesday evenings for grades 6-12, and Sunday mornings for
grades K-8. Our teaching staff consists of over 40 dedicated volunteer
catechists. Our goal as catechists is to continue the mission of Jesus,
bringing about the Kingdom of God in our midst. We do recognize the contemporary
concern for education in morality, values and social justice, encouraging
this within the framework of the teachings of Jesus and the Church. We
are also responsible for parent education, especially for parents of children
who are preparing for a sacrament both in the Catholic school and the religious
education program. An adult sacramental program is also conducted through
this office.
PARISH RELIGIOUS EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (SRA)
The Parish Religious Education Association is made up of all the
families of the children in Sts. John and Paul's Religious Education Program.
Our goal is to assist the Program and the Coordinator in areas where needed.
Each family is encouraged to take an active part in the SRA. The SRA is
responsible for class mothers, baking for special events, volunteering
as corridor aides, hospitality at Sacramental meetings and Sacramental
days and fundraising through our annual bake sale held in the late winter
months. Meetings are held approximately every month.
