PASTORAL
COUNCIL
Summary of objectives: To support all parish activities, respond to the
needs of people, and
to endeavour involve the whole of the parish in our mission. To assist the laity to
participate
in the apostolic work of the Church (evangelical and social) at parish level and beyond.
To
promote communication among all sectors and the parish and wider community, and to
cooperate with diocesan organisations.
CATHOLIC WOMEN'S LEAGUE
Aims and objectives: To
unite Catholic women in a bond of common fellowship in the
promotion of spiritual, cultural, intellectual and social interests. We work closely with
our Priests and
Bishops and give support to the Seminaries.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month in the Meeting Room,
immediately
after the 9:00 am Mass. It is hoped to set up another group to meet in the evenings

CATECUMENATE / RITE of
CHRISTIAN INITIATION of ADULTS (RCIA)
A process undertaken by non-Catholics to know more about our Catholic faith, and hopefully
leading to their reception into the Church at the Easter Vigil Mass.
First meeting for the next year: Wednesday, August 22 at 7:30 pm

PARISH RELIGIOUS
EDUCATION PROGRAMME (PREP)
Volunteers who have received training as Catechists run the PREP Programme.
Young Catholics in preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation
and Holy Communion are encouraged to continue by linking up with the Confirmation
Programme.
At present there is an urgent need for more Catechists

FAMILY
GROUP MOVEMENT
The motto is "A Family for
All". Each group is made up of 10 - 15 families. The groups
meet once a month to enjoy being with one another, and gradually to develop
supportive relationships.

MARIAN
MOVEMENT CENACLE
Our Lady invites us to form Cenacles
of Prayer. She has laid down a format and has given us the
beautiful Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which is the highlight of
every
meeting. The Parish has participated in praying the Cenacles for over ten years
All are welcome to come along on Monday evenings 7:30 pm.

EUCHARISTIC
ADORATION
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
is a powerful means of bring blessings upon the parish and
the world. It is much needed in contemporary society, that is becoming increasingly
anti-Christian.
Please come for a visit to Jesus in the Sacrament of His Love at any time on each Friday
between
9 am and 5 pm, or on Sunday 8:30 to 9:15 am. Better still join our committed adorers

MARY, MOTHER
of SORROWS PRAYER GROUP
We set aside two hours a week to
meet in prayer, to come together to sit before the
Living Lord, to leave the noise of the world behind, and to make ourselves open
to
communication with the Lord. We meet at 1 pm every Thursday (not during school
holidays) in Our Lady's Chapel.

GODSTART
PROGRAM
GodStart is a post Baptism program
for young families with children between the ages of 0
to 4 years. It is designed to help parents and family members develop the faith of their
pre-school children.

CHILDREN'S
LITURGY
Children's Liturgy is offered at the 9:30 Mass on Sunday
mornings. The aim of the liturgy is
to make the Mass more simple and meaningful for children, in conjunction with learning
the format of the Mass, with emphasis on the message and meaning of the weekly readings.

GUILD
of ST. STEPHEN
The Guild offers young altar servers who are 13 years old
and up an opportunity to
meet on a social basis.

CYBERKIDS
This is a computer club for children, who are interested in the Internet and
gaining computer skills.
Meetings of the group are at present in abeyance, but it
is hoped to resume later, if sufficient
interest
is shown.

ST. JOSEPH PIGNATELLI
TENNIS CLUB
SJP Tennis Club has been formed to encourage family participation as a Christian
Community in the playing of tennis and social activities. Organized social tennis is
available on Sunday afternoons at 2:00 pm, and members are encouraged to
participate on a regular basis. All levels of tennis are accepted from beginners to
pennant players. If interested, please come along.
