RULE #6 "SURPRISE OTHERS BY PERFORMING RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS."

"Go out of your way to do something surprisingly kind and generous for someone at least once a month. All of the kids love this rule, and it sounds as if it is a really good idea and that it would be a lot of fun. The problem is that it is one of the hardest rules for people to follow. In our daily lives, we get so busy and preoccupied that there isn't much time to sit down and think up a surprise for someone. Usually, if it isn't someone's birthday or a special occasion, people really don't see a need to go out of their way to do something special for someone else. However, that is the best time to give someone a nice surprise - when it isn't expected."

Denim Day for Breast Cancer

Dear Parents and Students of SSPJ,
As you probably know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, our Student Council has decided to do something to raise money for breast cancer awareness. We are having a denim day. A denim day is a day when you get to wear jeans for a special cause. To wear jeans, each student must send in $1.00. They will be allowed to wear a pair of jeans with their gym shirt on our denim day. Take note that the jeans must be appropriate - no rips or holes. They must be worn at the waist and cannot be too tight. Our denim day will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2006. The money we raise will go toward the Cancer Institute of NJ Breast Cancer Patient Relief Fund. This fund sends 100% of its donations to breast cancer patients who need help paying for certain medical related costs. The form from your packet must be sent in with your donation.
