Please contact the school's main office for information regarding announcements. TEACHERS GO TO SCHOOL
On the stormy night of October 17, The Diocese of Metuchen hosted a renowned educator, Dr. Barent Walsh. Most of our faculty braved the deluge
of rain and the two hour, one way drive, to learn, "New Developments in Understanding and Treating Self-Injury" in children. STOP, DROP, AND ROLL: THE MORNING QUEUE To all the most well-meaning Moms and Dads, who fuss about the children, getting out of the car on the drop off queue line, Please don't. Have the child/ren ready to disembark as you drive up. If more time is necessary, park and fuss all you want. Too many close calls have been happening due to patiently annoyed drivers, pulling around the said stopped cars, to drop off alongside the line. Please remember - Stop, Drop, Check for Children and Roll!!! THANK YOU MRS. GORDA The HSA Board would like to thank Mrs. Gorda, her entire committee and all that helped make the Basket Bingo such a great success. We thank you all for your time and fabulous support. HIGH SCHOOL VISITATION Our eighth graders were invited to spend a day in each of the two Pennsylvania Catholic High Schools, Notre Dame and Bethlehem Catholic. The students were able to speak with high school students, tour the buildings, and attend some classes. Two wonderful days! SSPJ was well represented by 23 of our students at Notre Dame and 20 at Bethlehem Catholic. One of our students commented that she was able to answer one of the problems presented in the Algebra II class she was visiting. Another thought our Social Studies curriculum well prepares our students for high school Social Studies. Thanks, 8th Grade. We are proud of your representation! RULE #14 -"ANSWER ALL WRITTEN QUESTIONS WITH A COMPLETE SENTENCE" "This rule helps students to develop a command of the written language. It
helps them learn to develop and organize their thoughts, especially when the questions require a short but thought-out answer." CHRISTIANS ARE LIKE PUMPKINS What is it like to be a Christian? How does it feel to know the love of God-to know that he has washed away your sins at Jesus' cross and given you new life, a life that really counts and will last forever? Someone has said that it's a little like being a pumpkin! God comes to us and picks us up from a lonely, cold field. He washes off all the dirt of our sin. He removes the seeds o doubt, fear and hate that have grown inside us. Then he places within us the light of his love. This love warms our hearts. What was once filled with darkness is now flooded with light. That love puts a smile on our face! Now the whole world can see God's shining in us!
