Pizza Dinner will be first, including soda or water for $5 per person (children under 3 are free)
Then the fun starts! The children (PK to 8th Grade) will team up to compete in crazy contests that will be entertaining for all ages. Please sign up using the form in your packet. When you arrive, look for the check-in table to pick up your team assignment.
Return the form with your payment to the HSA mailbox in the Main Office no later than January 30.

School Days.... School Daze

You are invited to come and spend a class epriod with your child/ren in his/her classroom on Tuesday, January 29th or Friday, February 1st. On these 2 days, we invite you to sit in your child's classroom to enjoy one lesson for the day. Please remain for one class so that there is enough space for all parents without overcrowding the room. We will ask the teachers to send home a schedule so you can plan your visit.
Included in this information there are three lunch times for the grades. During the lunch periods, we ask that there are no visitations. Please note that again this year we will have, "Let's Do Lunch!" during Valentine's week. This is when we invite you to join your child for lunch in our cafeteria.
In order to keep the hallways and cafeteria open or passable, please exit the building by 2:00 PM on the visitation days.
Also, we love all your children, however younger siblings can be very distracting to the teachers and students, so please make other arrangements for them.
THANK YOU!

Holy Childhood Boxes of Love

Please return all Advent Mission Boxes to your homeroom teacher by Friday, January 25th. Thank you for all your prayers and sacrifices for poor children around the world. You are always most generous.
Mrs. Bolcar

Catholic Schools Week Mass

This Sunday, January 27, 2008, begins Catholic Schools Week. We ask that all students attend Mass at their home parishes wearing the SSPJ dress uniform. At St. Philip and St. James Parish, the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass is dedicated to our Catholic School and students should wear their uniforms and remain after Mass for a group picture.
Families of St. Mary Parish:
Please join us on Sunday, January 27 for a celebration of Catholic Schools Week at the 9:30 AM Mass. Students are requested to wear their dress uniform as they are seated with their families.

IMPORTANT FINGERPRINTING INFORMATION!

In compliance with policies of the Diocese of Metuchen and the NJ Department of Education, volunteers and employees of school systems must be fingerprinted through the SAGEM MORPHO agency. To facilitate this, SSPJ has made arrangements for SAGEM Morpho's "Mobile Fingerprint Operations" to come to our school February 13 for faculty and staff, and February 14 for volunteers.
VOLUNTEERS PLEASE NOTE: Only volunteers new to SSPJ this year need to utilize this agency. If you have been a part of KidSafe, your fingerprints are on file until the exp[iration date printed on your ID card. If you are new to our volunteer list, or do not have a KidSafe ID, please call the office (908)859-1244 to schedule an appointment and receive all pertinent information.

Fundraising News

Fundraising totals for each family will be coming home in your family's p[acket the week of January 30th. These totals will be year-to-date up to December 21st, 2007. Our Fundraising starts June 1 and continues until May 31. If you have any questions regarding your totals, please contact Mrs. Halm for fundraising totals or Mrs. Bruckman for SCRIP totals.
The totals for fundraisers to date are:
Genevieves: $6,196.41
Gertrude Hawk Fall: $3,127.20
Market Day (June-Dec): $2,559.28
Without your continued support these fundraisers would not have been a success. Thank you for your time and effort for those sales.
We have received a check this year in the amount of $877.37. This was from the collection of "Box Tops for Education" we have collected from May to October 2007. Thank you Mrs. King and Mrs. Martinez for all of your cutting and sorting. Thank you to our families for saving and sending them in to the school. Every Box Top counts!
Our next fundraiser will be Gertrude Hawk for Easter. Easter is early this year, so the sale will begin in February. The last sale will be Piazza Farms for our third annual "Flats of Flowers" sale. This sale will start in April in order to have the forms back to the families for May pick-up.
