RULE #44
"WHEN IN A LINE, WALK SINGLE FILE, TWO TO THREE FEET BEHIND THE PERSON IN FRONT OF YOU WITH YOUR ARMS AT YOUR SIDES. YOU SHOULD FACE FORWARD AT ALL TIMES. THERE IS NO TALKING."

"Children seem to enjoy the organization of a line and they are proud of the way they look. You may think children would be resistant to asking them to be so quiet, disciplined, and orderly, but they actually enjoy it!."

CARDS FOR WARREN HOSPITAL!

Attention Teachers, Parents and Students!! The Student Council will be collecting handmade "get well soon" cards for the sick people, especially children, in Warren Hospital. We are asking that each child make one or two cards. Teachers may give time in class to make the cards or you can do them at home. Please give them to your homeroom teacher by February 1, 2007. The people in the hospital need something to cheer them up during the winter months and we hope these cards will do just that! Thank you so much for your support and cooperation.
Sincerely, Your Student Council

Catholic Schools Week January 28 - Februsry 2

As you know, in our Catholic school, the students grow to understand the roots of their faith and their responsibilities as Christians as they prepare to become the moral leaders of tomorrow. They are challanged to improve the world by sharing Gospel values and living Christ's message of salvation.
This philosophy is one of the many reasons you have selected SSPJ and we are planning a week to celebrate it!
Catholic Schools Week is a great time to reflect upon SSPJ and all of you who make it a truly wonderful learning experience. This week also provides an opportunity to discuss with others the SSPJ benefits. Please encourage friends and neighbors visit the Open House on Wednesday, January 31.
The Open House Announcement in your packet will be distributed throughout the parishes and will serve not only as a reminder of the event, but also as a quick summary of the SSPJ advantages. It is an impressive list of the tangible differences SSPJ has over other schools and educational options. However, there is even more to consider.
Spirituality - Students explore their faith through classes and activities in Morality, Scripture, Church, and Sacraments. As a faith community, we emphasize those values which encourage students to accept others rather than exclude them, to understand the difference between right and wrong, and to commit themselves to serve God by serving others.
Family and Community - SSPJ helps students understand that each person is unique and valuable. SSPJ joins with the family to help students understand their special place in the family, society, and the Church. Every child shares in an educational environment filled with love and concern - a community joining together to help create a better world.
In the craziness of our daily lives, it is easy to forget how storng the SSPJ community is and the role it plays in the lives and development of our children. Please take time during Catholic Schools Week to pause and say thank you to those who make all of it come together, including you! And remember to remind others about Wednesday's Open House!

HSA Meeting - Stop Bullying

Key Message: How to help your children deal with intimidation and not to become and intimidator.
The HSA is sponsoring Tom Leston on January 24th at 7PM to speak about bullying and intimidation. He is a NJ counselor, author, and coach with great experience in working through difficult situations. The program will focus on how, as parents, we can provide tools to help our children face peers. It will be an informative and interactive evening. You can get a preview of the topics by checking out Bully Stoppers.Com.
Babysitting will be provided by the older students of SSPJ with adult supervision. Please add the number of children and their ages with your RSVP response from the packet.

ST. JOSEPH CHURCH

JUST A REMINDER! Students who attend St. Joseph Church, please wear your school dress uniform to church on Sunday for Catholic Schools' Week. Thank you!
