ASH WEDNESDAY - The Beginning of Lent

When Jesus spoke to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8:12
Savior and friend, today is Ash Wednesday. We start Lent today reflecting on the love you have for us that made you die for us to save us. It's easy to forget about that love - you know the activity and pressures that surround us every day. You know how these things weigh on our minds and how they sometimes leave us almost breathless. In the midst of our fast-moving lives and world, give us those quiet times we need for reflection and rest, and keep our mids at peace.
Amen.

Thank You!

We would like to thank everyone for all their contributions during Catholic School Week. As in past years, the week is filled with exciting events and fun. The eighth graders were once again victorious over the teachers in beach-blanket volleyball - perhaps and off-season training camp would be a good idea. Everyone experienced a great Bible Bowl. We welcomed a large attendance of prospective families at the Open House and all the tour guides did an exceptional job. Finally, the week ended in yet another snowy/rainy, but full and filled with fun Family Fun Night
Thank you, Mrs. Sena, Mrs. Francisco, all the teachers and administration for all your efforts and hard work throughout the week. We would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Cicalese and her family for once again working hard to make having fun so easy on Friday night. We would like to thank the HSA Executive Board members and their families for all their time and dedication throughout the week.
Finally, we would like to thank each of you for supporting all of the events last week. Whether it was shuttling your child over to help out, volunteering, or taking part in the fun, we all came together in classis SSPJ spirit. Everyone's commitment and contribution exemplified the core goals for Catholic Schools Week.
Catholic schools truly do Light the Way!
Thanks again,
Mr. & Mrs. Hilliard
HSA Co-Presidents

New Date for Parent Visitation

We missed you last Friday! The inclement weather conditions may have cencelled school, but we couldn't pass up the chance to enjoy your presence in our classrooms. We are re-scheduling our second Parent Visitation Day to Friday, February 22, 2008. Please remember to sign in, remain for only one class period, and though we love all your children, please leave younger siblings home, as their presence would be too disruptive to the flow of the class. Thank you for your support and cooperation; and thank you for entrusting us with your children.
