LENT

During Lent, the church invites us to make the journey inward. Our destination is God. Our path is transformation. Conversion depends upon our commitment and God's grace. Yet, it is the grace of God that keeps us in the direction of our desire and goal. We are drawn toward the light, aware of our shadow, but never overcome by its darkness. Sin is not so much a turning away from the light as it is a refusal to advance. We stand still, fixed in the moment by weakness of will. Yet God is always aware of us, always aware of what is yet unhealed. God always reaches out and says, "Yes... Come to me."
Amen.

Beach Blanket Volleyball! Eighth Graders Victorious Again!

On Wednesday, January 30th, the 8th Graders challanged the Faculty to the annual "Beach Blanket Volleyball." Even though our teachers put forth a GREAT effort, the 8th graders were victorious! Congratulations to our athletic 8th graders!

It's Yearbook Time!

It's time to order your 2007-08 Saints Philip and James Yearbook. Our school yearbook highlights all of our students from PK through Grade 8. Orders for the Yearbook will be accepted through the end of February.
Cost -- $19.00 each
Make checks payable to SSPJ. List your child's name and grade on the envelope. If you are ordering multiple copies of the Yearbook, please indicate each child's name and grade on the envelope.

For the cost of $5.00, you may list your family, or a personal message to any of our 8th Grade graduates.
Please fill out the form in your packet and enclose payment (checks payable to SSPJ) no later than February 25, 2008.

New Date for Let's Do Lunch

Our Snow-Date for Let's Do Lunch from February 13, 2008 grades PK, 1, 4, 8 will now be Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Please remember to send forms, lunch choice, and payment if you will be buying lunch before Wednesday!
