LENT

Lord, like Peter, I am sometimes so afraid, yet You made him the rock of your Church. I long to be closer to You. Help me to remember that nothing is important in my life unless it glorifies You in some way.
It's so easy to get caught up in the day to day of my life and keep saying, "Tomorrow I will spend more time in prayer," but now my longing meets Your love and I want to do it now. Help me to rely on You for help. The prayer asks You that I reach perfection. Please, Lord, remind me that 'perfection' isn't the crazy, 'successful' way I try to live my life, but a perfection of my most authentic, real self. My 'perfection' might be holding my many flaws in my open hands, asking You to help me accept them. Heal me, Lord, and help me to find You in the darkness of my life. Let me reach out in this darkness and feel Your hand and love there to guide me.
May the Lord bless us every day and be with us.
Amen.

Heifer International Project

Dear Friends,
As we reflect on the blessings of family and friends during this holiday season, the turmoil and uncertainty of our world fade away. Because what truly matters most in our lives are the people we embrace... and how we treat one another.
While world events may shift and change, it's the little things that remain - the kindness we extend to a stranger; the extra effort we make on behalf of a friend. It's this goodness that comes back to us. It's our goodness that makes the world a better place.
And every day, you inspire me with your willingness to help people you've never met in places far away. Because of you, Heifer International means hope to people in need all over the world. Thank you for your gift.
With much gratitude,
Jo Luck, President and CEO

Memo From Maschio's Food Service

Maschio's Food Services is aware of the current beer recall now in progress. We have been alerted that the USDA was investigating the Westland Meat Company two weeks ago. We have already had suspect inventories of beef on "HOLD" as requested by the USDA and processors. The suspect inventories were not used and are awaiting further instruction for disposal from the USDA, Maschio's has removed all beef from the menus until further notice. Maschio's will be disposing of any beef products which fall under the current recall notice. Please be aware that because of this situation, menu changes may be necessary for the remainder of the month.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
Tuesday, February 26th: Ground turkey will be used for the Taco Boat.
