A Living Memory
In loving memory of Brendan Opdycke, the HSA will be donating to the school the “Children of the World” Chasuble. It will be
worn during school masses going forward as a living memorial to Brendan.
We know that many of you have offered ideas and recommendations to memorialize Brendan. The school, HSA, and certainly the
Opdycke family appreciate all of your thoughtful suggestions. And although the chasuble might be a bit simple compared to
other suggestions, it serves to keep the principles of SSPJ forefront in our hearts and mind - our children, our Catholic faith, and
our exploration of the world. Therefore as the children celebrate the Eucharist, Brendan will always be remembered.
The 2007 Eigth Grade class has decided to donate a cross in memory of their classmate Brendan Opdycke. It is engraved with the words "Love one
another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another. In loving memory of Brendan Opdycke 1992-2007. Love Always, SSPJ
Class of 2007." It is currently hanging in the Holy Family Library.

Volunteer Opportunity!
The HSA is looking for a volunteer to be the school store coordinator. The role requires
operating the store on only two nights early in the school year (August 23rd and 28th) and
then maintaining the inventory and filling orders throughout the school year. This is a
great opportunity to volunteer if you have younger children or are unable to commit time
during the school day.
Please contact Mrs. Hilliard if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.
CONGRATULATIONS!
The HSA would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the eighth
grade class of 2007. You all are tremendous individuals and it has been a
true pleasure to be a part of your lives. We wish you all of the best and
know that wherever you go, your SSPJ family will always be here cheering
you onward.
Thank you eighth grade parents for all you have done throughout your
children's stay at SSPJ. For many of you, this is the last year you will be
sending someone to SSPJ. Please know that you will always be a part of
the SSPJ family and always welcome to be a part of the HSA, events, and
activities.
Congratulations and God bless.
"Let the little children come to me, and do
not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven
belongs to such as these."
- Matthew 19:14
The HSA would like to congratulate the little graduates from
Pre-K and Kindergarten this year. You are each little
blessings and we wish all of you the best for a safe and
wonderful summer.
