Volume 7, Issue 3 Please return your emergency forms and student handbook forms to the school office as soon as possible! Thank you!
Please contact the school's main office for information regarding announcements. MARK YOUR CALENDAR! INTERNET SAFETY SEMINAR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 8TH We are once again focusing on Internet safety during the first HSA meeting scheduled for Wednesday, November 8th at 7:00 p.m. Guest speaker Detective Michael Tansey will provide the very valuable insight, coaching, and advice as he has in the past to help all families effectively and more importantly safely utilize the Internet. He will explore general Internet safety, information pertaining to online predators, and how we all can keep our children safe. Detective Tansey is personally driven to keep children safe as he looks out for his own children and fortunately for us, has also adopted the children of SSPJ. The evening will prove to be an enlightened, educational experience as Detective Tansey provides tools and suggestions to keep your children safe. Since online predators are finding new ways everyday to exploit our children, this seminar is worthy of your attendance even if you have attended it in the past. SSPJ SCHOOL PICNIC We wanted to thank all the families who attended the school picnic on Saturday. Even the threat of rain did not keep anyone away! The movie "High School Musical" was a big hit with the ending being the best part. Thanks so much to Mrs. Cicalese and her dance class who taught the children at the picnic the ending dance number so that everyone was able to jump up, dance and have lots of fun! MAGENTA CHAIR ON THE LAM! At Saturday's picnic one magenta folding chair accidently went home with the wrong family. Please return to SSPJ. THANK YOU. BASKET BONANZA Did you save the date? Last year our eighth grade Language Arts class submitted poems to Pine Tree Poetry, located in Burlington, N.C. Eight of our students' works were selected for the 2006 publication. We are proud of their accomplishments and wish them continued success in Creative Writing. RESPECT OTHER STUDENTS' COMMENTS, OPINIONS, AND IDEAS, RULE #4
During discussions, respect other students' comments, opinions, and ideas. When possible, make statements like, "I agree with John, and I also feel that..., Or I agree with Sara. She made a good point, but I feel that...". SOARING HIGH Students, teachers and diocesan staff gathered August 29th at the St. John Neumann Pastoral Center, Piscataway, to view the students' work from this summer's Bishop's School. The display on the trigonometry and geometry of kites included students from Our Lady of Peace School, Fords; St. Helena School, Edison; and STS. PHILIP & JAMES SCHOOL. The eighth graders attended the Bishop's School of Mathematics June 26-30 at cardinal McCarrick High School, South Amboy. Just a Reminder Look in this week's packet for information regarding The Catholic Spirit.
