School Store
Mark your calendar for the School Store dates coming up in
August. The store will be open Tuesday, August 22 and Monday, August 28, to purchase homework assignment pads, writing tablets, and
journals. The school store will have a list for each class to assist you. In addition to the school supplies, recycled uniforms will
also be offered for adoption during the school store hours. Please take advantage of this generous sharing of resources from our famlies.
This is a great way to supplement your uniform purchases.
Sailing the Waters of Hope 2006-2007!
Destination: Eastern Europe -- "EE" -- Double "E"
A multicultural arena of contrasts -- rich/poor? -- land barons/peasants? --
This is a difficult area of the world to cover, but the world tour would be incomplete without it!
Our choices are many:
Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Sarajevo, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia,
Slovenia, Yugoslavia, Voyvodina, Moldavia, Montenegro, Armenia, Belarus, Chechnya, Estonia, Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine.
Parties, Class Celebrations, Birthday Treats and Holiday Snacks!
Ah! Give me the simple life... Along with our child wellness and
nutrition program, your homeroom teachers and HSA room parents will be helping to restructure the way we celebrate birthdays and holidays.
Our sacrament of Eurcharistis after all, the breaking of the transformed bread.
Yes, a carbohydrate was chosen by Christ to be transubstantiated into His very body. So, carbohydtares are a wonderful thing. Family
meals are important, classroom celebrations a tradition, but when did all this sharing become: soda, cookies, candies, cake, etc. and foods
of minimal nutritional value, all at the same time? Cheese and crackers, fresh fruit, veggies and dip are a fun way to celebrate also.
There are many choices and we need to reinvent our eating styles so they are healthier and varied.
My dad, a physician for more than 50 years, always said, "foods are good in moderation, portion control is a healthy control!" I believe,
father does know best! Perhaps, fruit and a cookie would be pleasant and healthier? Each teacher will discuss class needs with
families on "Back To School Night." This way all dietary concerns and age-appropriate enjoyment is taken into consideration.
Keep it smple! Keep it healthful! THANKS.
Notice:
Exercise - a terrific energy booster
Skating - a wonderful pastime
However, please, for safety reasons, do NOT send your child/ren to school with wheeled sneakers.
