In Loving Memory of Brendan
"Eternal rest grant to him O Lord..."
Life after death...
As Catholic adults we understand this term religiously from our gospels.
Indeed, "we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever more." However,
within our school family, this phrase also has a secular meaning, of the rest
of us picking ourselves up, as best we can, and moving on.
And life goes on at SSPJ...
When something so tragic happens, there are always more questions than
answers. We are forever changed by the tragedy but we continue our path
forward. God in His infinite wisdom gave us that drive to cling to the
familiar, hang on to structure and try to put things right, as soon as
possible.
The Opdycke family, with deep appreciation, thanks everyone for their
outpouring of love. It is your continued prayers and kindnesses that have
and will carry them in this devastating time.
Barbara Opdycke explained that Mary, Our Blessed Mother, had to suffer
the loss of her Son. This is the model of endurance she will try to use as she
attempts to heal from this painful occurrence.
Mr. John Pilosi, our guidance counselor, Donna Amundson, the NJ State
Traumatic Loss Coalition grief counselor, and Dr. Benny Titus, an SSPJ
parent, were extraordinary in their assistance with our students. We also
want to thank Sue La Putka from Catholic Charities and the Warren
County Coalition for their support as well.
God bless Brendan and please God, sustain the Opdycke family.
