When Simon Peter arrived after him, he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there, and the cloth that had covered his head, not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place. Then the other disciple also went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed. -Jn 20:6-8

Easter Message from the Pastor…

Easter speaks to us of Life. Easter makes us think about and celebrate Life. Easter is God’s way of saying to us "I am the God of Life."

We rejoice and we celebrate that faith of ours: "I am a God of Life!’

As we look around our world of 2005, there are too many images of death that impact upon us. There are too many images of those who fail to honor life that impact upon us. Those images can lead some people down the road of hopelessness, of despair, of revenge.

Our God says: "no need to go there." Our God makes us say: hope springs eternal. Our God’s Son shows us victory over evil, power over death, he shows us Resurrection.

Jesus summons us to be a people of Life and nation of God’s children with Hope. Jesus calls us not to dwell on his death but to focus on his life: Here and now…among us.

Christ’s exit from the tomb is Christ’s victory over the power of death. Christ’s exit from the tomb is our victory as well. Our victory over that evil which we conquer with God’s strength.

We conquer when we celebrate Life, when we foster life, when we work to raise consciousness about life’s value.

Our rallying shout echoes, Alleluia! Praised be God; Holy is our God; Blessed be our God of Life.
