Minutes for December 5, 2005
7:00pm, Parish Center
PPC members present Susan Hetu, Doreen L. Moore, Robin Tracy, Peter Lombardo, Marie Kopf, Sr. Marylou Cassidy, Janet DeSimone, Betty Smith, Jack Farrell, Tom Ciulla, Caroline Ciulla, Ed Giordano, Fr. Dave, Fr. Bill, Steve Ahern, Robert Lynch-Galvin .
PPC member absent Mary Driscoll, Vittorio Bucchieri, Sheila Sarkes, Chuck DeCoste.
PPC member excused Michael Rora, Deacon Cy O'Neil, Joan Kilday Puleo.
Meeting was opened in prayer by Ellie Mangerian
Chancery Meeting with Bishop Lennon, David Smith
  • Meeting went well. Big issue was the drop off in Mass attendance.
  • Time, Treasure, Talent plan expected to alleviate drop off and increase offertory collections.
  • Chancery was pleased that the parish was taking measures to improve situation.
  • In the future, tax filings for all parishes will be handled by a payroll service
Grand Annual Fr. Bill reports that we are catching up on Grand Annual compared to last year's Grand Annual.
School Budget School is still owed $40,000 from 2004
Offertory Collection Weekly donations need to be between $17,000 and $18,000 to cover budget.
St. Patrick School
  • School Board will look at offertory envelopes from school parents.
  • Parents who donate 30 hours of service equates to $l,500 per year toward tuition.
School Auction At this time there is not a chairperson in place to run auction. $80,000 is usually taken in at his event.
Mass Survey
  • Steve Ahern of the Finance Board provided each member of the council with a three-page Mass survey response summary.
  • In addition , Bob Lynch-Galvin, PPC, distributed Mass Attendance Charts which he had compiled.
  • It was decided to wait until end of school year before making any changes in Sunday Masses.
Share Program Member of group spoke of need for a new space. Currently space in old school is used, but stairs make it difficult for some members to navigate. Use of lower level of rectory was suggested as new site.
Food Group Needs more members.
January Retreat Sr. Mary Lou handed out schedule for January 8 retreat day/pot luck to be held in Our Lady of Providence Hall.

Retreat/Business meeting scheduled for Monday, February 13
