St. Patrick Catholic Youth Organization
Mission Statement

The CYO of St. Patrick Parish has been established as the means by which the parish can bring together the High School aged youth as a distinct group with specific interests and needs. The CYO program seeks to offer a balanced, four-fold program of Spiritual, Service, Social, and Athletic activities within a safe, and welcoming environment. The goal of the CYO is two-fold:

  1. To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each individual, and

  2. To draw and welcome all young people into responsibility, understanding, and participation in the life of the Catholic Church and community.

This Youth Ministry is to, with, and by youth:
  1. Youth Ministry is TO youth when the Christian community exercises its pastoral role in meeting young people's needs. Ministry to youth draws on the resources and gifts of the adult community to provide opportunities for growth that young people need but cannot attain without assistance.

  2. Youth Ministry is WITH youth because young people share with adults a common responsibility to carry out the Church's mission. When youth exercise this responsibility jointly with adults, God's work is completed using the largest and most eclectic of means.

  3. Youth Ministry is BY youth when young people exercise their own ministry to others, particularly to their peers and those less fortunate than themselves.

This Youth Ministry is therefore centered on the person of Jesus Christ. The CYO exists under the patronage and protection of Christ the King. Every aspect of the CYO program is designed to grow out of a personal relationship with the person of Christ. Every aspect of the CYO program is designed for all to deepen their own personal understanding and relationship with Christ.
