The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) is the process for welcoming new members into the Roman Catholic Church.
The R.C.I.A. is a community journey that leads to a transformation of mind and spirit. Guided by the Gospel and by the examples set by parishioners, newcomers (inquirers) can find their place in the community of believers.
The R.C.I.A. is a personal journey in which inquirers examine and parishioners renew their own relationship with God. The enthusiastic and joyous response of those in the process of discovery of Christ in their lives can impart renewed faith in the lives of others.

Overview of Process
Meet our recent Catholics
|
The R.C.I.A. is for people of high school age and above who are unbaptized and who are thinking about entering the Catholic Church; for baptized Catholics who have not received the sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist; for baptized people of other Christian traditions interested in becoming Catholic; for parishioners who want to deepen their knowledge of the faith; or for all who want to renew their own relationship with God.
The unbaptized who continue their journey to the study of the Catholic faith will become Catechumens. People baptized as Catholics or in other Christian traditions that have not received the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist are known as Candidates.
