The Parish Life Team of the Pastoral Council of St. Paul Cathedral Parish sincerely thanks all who so selflessly donated time, talent and treasure to make possible a very enjoyable picnic last Sunday. From chips, veggies and fruits to cakes, cookies, water and pop; from serving items, toys and monetary donations to electric cables, time and hard work.

PASTOR’S REPORT:
The Parish budget is completed and ready to be reviewed and approved by the Parish Finance Council at their next meeting. Of course, we all are aware of the organ restoration which is now underway. The four (4) repairmen are housed in an Oakland Apt. which has been furnished by the Diocese – some furniture from Bishop’s House in Pittsburgh and others who were kind enough to donate pieces of furniture, etc.

TV MINISTRY will be turned over by the Diocese, to the Cathedral as of June 1st, 2008. Mary Lou Ende has agreed to be in charge of scheduling and Ted Wojcik will be the technical coordinator which entails viewing Channel 95 (Christian Associates ) thus overseeing its’ daily operation.

RE: RCIA Program: 39 were received into the Church; 12 were baptized & 14 were confirmed & 2 will finish studies their religious education studies later this year. Easter Week Services at St. Paul Cathedral: comments were of a very position nature. All agreed that Bishop Zubik is a real asset to the Pittsburgh Diocese.

Grace Alba will prepare prayers for May.

Getting back to basics, we reviewed the Roles & Responsibilities within the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC)
Communications: Ed Hirzel and Roseann Sullivan
        Facilitator: Dave Smoller
        Co-facilitator: Karen McIntyre
        Recorder: Elaine Jennings
Convenor: Shared by Elizabeth Beroes & Carmella Kesicki.

Goal Teams: Dave Smoller explained, in detail, the Objectives, Accomplishments, Issues or Challenges and where each Goal Team should be.

There were some changes of PPC Liaisons to the various Goal Teams as follows:
Faith Formation: Roseann Sullivan and Grace Alba
Liturgical: Carmella Kesicki & Elaine Jennings
Parish Life: Tom Bainbridge & Matt Hawkins
Parish Programs: Dave Smoller & Elizabeth Beroes
Stewardship: Karen McIntyre & Ed Hirzel

Staff Members for each Goal Team as follows:
Faith Formation: Grace Morrisey until June/July – Vickie Erickson
Liturgical: Don Fellows & possibly Jean Hartman
        Parish Life: Sr. Marietta
        Parish Programs: Renee Pollice
        Stewardship: Greg Zigray

Ed Hirzel volunteered Wendy Malerbo to assist with Stewardship in the interim until a permanent facilitator is appointed.

Dave Smoller said that possibly Laura Stegall might be interested in Parish Programs.

Consensus of opinion is that Hospitality should come under Stewardship Goal Team & that Race & Reconciliation should be a part of a Goal Team – which one was not yet decided.
