Parish Initiatives
We are the Church, and the life of our parish depends upon the active support and collaboration of our members.  Here is a list of standing committees, current actions, and activities.  Persons may be contacted through the parish office.
Parish Council

Liturgy Committee
  Elaine Bassano, Coordinator
Meets monthly, 7:00 PM in the Parish House
Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors
  Pastoral Associate Patricia Bergan OSF coordinates liturgical activities.  Lay homilists are often chosen from our parishioners, who are invited to volunteer by Sr. Pat.
Music Ministry
  Members endeavor to give glory and praise to God through music, lead the congregation in song, enhance scripture presented in liturgy, and promote unity within the parish community.
Rehearsals are held before Sunday mass
Child Care at 11 AM Sunday Mass
   Child care is provided for infants and toddlers in a quiet setting.  A collection of age-appropriate toys and books are available.  Toddlers also have the opportunity to use drawing materials.

Justice and Peace Committee
  Meets Second Sunday of the month at 9:45 AM in Fr. Joe Kane Hall
Rotating Chairperson
Nicaragua Sister Community in Villanueva
  The parish provides support for this missionary effort through parish tithing, various fund-raising activities, and parishioner donations.  Brigadista Y Parteras (Health Aides and Midwives) provides services in Villaneuva and surrounding communities. 
Book Clubs
  These two groups meet monthly.

  Mass at 5:00 PM on the first and third Sundays of each month

Tithing
  Monthly one-tenth of offerings made to St. Andrew's Church is passed on to charitable organizations.  Current charities are: Dorothy Day House, Jail Ministry, Sister Community in Nicaragua.
