When does the school day begin and end?
School starts at 8:10 a.m. and ends at 2:55 p.m.  Every child should be in his/her homeroom at 8:00 a.m.  Children should not arrive before 7:50 a.m. unless special arrangements have been made.  The faculty and staff are not required to be in the building until 7:50 a.m., and for safety sake, we ask that the children arrive no earlier.

Children who ride buses provided by the Pittsburgh Public Schools, Woodland Hills, Fox Chapel, and Penn Hills will be dismissed at 2:35 p.m. to accommodate the busing schedule. The other children will be dismissed beginning with Kindergarten after the busses have pulled away from the curb approximately 2:45 p.m.

Children riding in cars should use the Willard Street entrance in front of church, both in the morning and in the afternoon. Please do not drive or park in the circular driveway or pull into the school playground from the alley.

What if my child will be absent or needs an early dismissal?
If your child is going to be absent, please call the school between 7:30 & 8:30 a.m.  When your child returns from his/her absence, please write a note explaining or acknowledging the absence.  It is also necessary to find out what work will be missed or was missed during the absence.  We will be more than happy to send homework home with a sibling or friend.  You may also pick-up the homework in the office between 3:00 & 5:30 p.m.  Just let us know when you call what you would like us to do.

If your child needs to be dismissed early, a note should be sent prior to the dismissal.  You or an authorized adult should come into the office to meet your child and sign your child out of school.  No child will be allowed to leave the school or wait outside of the building without an authorized adult.

If your child returns from an early dismissal, please sign your child back in at the school office.

What if my child forgets something at home?
If your child forgets something at home and you wish to deliver it, please bring whatever it is to the office.  We will see that your child gets it.  Please mark the item with your child's name and grade.
