St. Bede School admits students of any race or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to all students formally accepted into the school.  We do not discriminate on the basis of race or national or ethnic origin in the administration of our educational policies, admission policies, athletic or other school administered programs.  Children who are not Catholic are expected to participate in religion classes and to attend all religious functions of the school/church.

Registration

  • Registration forms are available from the school office (412-661-9425). 
  • Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received.
  • There is a $50.00 non-refundable fee due at the time of registration.
  • Children applying for admission to the Kindergarten class must be 5 years old by Sept. 30 of the school year in which they wish to be admitted.
  • In addition to basic information the registration form requires dates of reception of sacraments (where applicable) and dates of immunizations. A copy of the child's birth certificate must  accompany the registration form.

According to the Diocesan Handbook for Financing Elementary Schools:
Catholic children must meet the following three criteria to be eligible for the Catholic tuition rate: 

a) they must be baptized
b) the family must be practicing their faith through regular attendance at Mass and regular participation in the parish envelope system 
c) the family must be registered in a Catholic parish

Scholarship monies are available for eligible families through the Bishop's Education Fund and the Scholastic Opportunities Scholarships.  The Private School Aid Service (PSAS) application is used.  These applications are assessed by an independent evaluator and must be filed by March 15th.  Application forms are available in the school's office.  For information about the St. Bede Angel Fund contact the rectory at 412.661.7222.
