The new flag poles and their flags were dedicated this past Friday on the Feast of the Assumption following the 8 AM Mass as part of our parish’s ongoing celebration of the Bicentennial of the Archdiocese. The three poles are placed in the arc of a circle equally distant from the statue of Mary because she is equally the Patroness of the country, the Mother of the Church, and the Protector of our parish.
God of mercy and truth, you sent your only Son, born of the Virgin Mary, to be our Savior and Lord. He calls us together as his Church to carry on the work of salvation. We ask that you bless these flags; they symbolize for us the love we have for our country, our faith and our parish. We ask that you, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, watch over and protect our Nation, our Church, and our Faith Community. May all who come here know the presence of Christ, experience the joy of his friendship and grow in his love. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
