A Parish Pictorial Directory
This year, 2006, the parish is St. Paul is
celebrating its 35th Anniversary. With this in
much discussion, the Pastor and I along with the Pastoral Council have
decided to have a new Pictorial Directory for the Parish. Our
last Directory was completed in 2001. We would like to have
everyone’s picture in our anniversary edition.
This year’s Directory will be developed by Olin
Mills. They are the Company that served us in 1998, 2 directories
ago. Many parishioners were very happy with Olin Mills so we
opted to go with them rather than the company that served us in
2001. Sign up dates begin on September 9th and
up and get to know your fellow

you are unable to make the dates of October 19-21, you may be able to

is only with the help of parents such as
yourselves that we are able to offer this very important ministry in
parish. If you think you would like to
shadow a veteran teacher, please see Lorette after Mass or call the

Grades K- 3 Classes for children
in these grades will resume on the weekend of September 16/17..
Grades 4 – 10 + Last
year we initiated a new program for the children in these grade
levels. The classes are held once a month and the program is
geared to the entire family. Parents are strongly urged to attend the
sessions as there is an adult component to the program which helps them
to deepen their knowledge of the faith as well as making it possible
for them to compliment the practice of the faith in the home. Our
first class will be on Sunday, October 15, 2006. This year, the
classes will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm here at St. Paul’s.
A full year’s schedule will be given to you on the first class
day. Please mark your calendars.
Question of the Week 26th Sunday in
for the Lord) Reading Numbers 11:25-29 (Eldad and Medad) Reading II: James 5: 1-6 (Your Wealth has Rotted) Gospel: Mark 9: 36-48 (For or Against) Question for Adults:
special gift of faith do I contribute to the world? This question is simply asking what you do to
live a life that demonstrates your trust and love in God.Everyone has different strengths and everyone
has their personal cross to carry. Can
you identify yours? If it doesn’t come
to light immediately, you might want
to take some time to
reflect on this during the week Question for Children?During the month
of October this column will focus on the need for safety in the lives
of your children. The following discussions are sent to us
through the program for Protecting God’s Children. Please take
the time to review it with you children if they are in the appropriate
grade level. This week the lesson is for Grade 4. (Approx.20-25
min.) The focus of this lesson is to help
the children recognize the difference between tattling and telling
By the end of you discussion, your child
should be able to give examples of times when it is appropriate to tell
Begin by explaining to your child that you want to
discuss ways that will help them stay safe when they are not with
Ask your child to tell you about times when they
have told someone a secret and asked them not to tell. Then, ask
them if they have ever been told to keep something a secret. Discuss the following with your child:
- Tattling can be selfish.
Usually we tattle because we want to get someone in trouble.
- Telling is to help someone not get
hurt or to do the right thing
1. What if Joey’s big brother is beating up on
him? Would it be tattling to tell someone about it?
( No, because Joey needs help. )
2. What if someone were stealing your lunch money at
school? Would it be tattling to tell your teacher about it?
(No, because it is a problem that you need to help solve)
