Parish office hours
    Our parish office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The Pastoral Associate is in most afternoons until 4:00 PM. If you need to come in the PM please give us a call to make sure someone is here. Messages can always be left on the answering machine.

Christian Formation News

2006-2007 Schedule (click here)

Grades K – High School
All children from grade K – the end of Confirmation must register. The registration does not roll over from one year to the next. You can pick up a form in the back of the church or you can visit the parish office Monday – Thursday during office hours or give us a call at 483-8481 and ask us to mail you a form. We would be happy to do this

Grades K- 3 Classes for children in these grades have class every week between September 30 and May 15th except Christmas and Easter. The children in grades 1 and 2 must attend regularly is they are to be prepared for their First Communion at the end of grade two. This is a two year program.

Grades 4 – 10 + The classes are held once a month and the program is geared to the entire family. Parents are strongly urged to attend the sessions as there is an adult component to the program which helps them to deepen their knowledge of the faith as well as making it possible for them to compliment the practice of the faith in the home. Our last class for this school year was on Sunday, April 15th in Auburn. We will resume classes in September.

Gospel: John 13: 31-35 (I will Give you a New Commandment)

Question for Adults: Jesus’ commandment to love another as I love myself is a challenge. What will you do this week to love yourself and in turn love your spouse/child(ren)? Note: Perhaps it would be beneficial to take some time in reflecting on your concept of loving yourself. Although being good to yourself is a part of this picture, there is more to it than that. The real question is, “Do you love yourself, or do you feel inferior, incompetent, not worthy, ugly, etc?” This is vital to answering the question of the week. It is impossible to love someone else if you do not yet love yourself.

Question for the Teens: The world is full of examples of people who don’t love others. What are the results of hate that you see in the world? How would the world be different if we followed Jesus’ commandment? Begin by looking around in your own home, neighborhood, school etc. Don’t jump to examples of hate in the world. This is too far removed to be realistic for you. Once you have identified local examples, go on to national headlines. You will see that it only gets worse. Is it possible to change the world by following Jesus’ command to love? Do you believe this?

Question for Children? Jesus loves us just the way we are. Today is a good day to show someone around us that we love them just the way they are.

Community News

First Communion . . .May 12, 2007

On Saturday May 12th, some of our children will be making their First Communion. We will be having the Mass at 4:00 pm on that day. There will be No 6:00 PM Mass on May 12th. You are welcome to attend this Mass. The families of the First Communicants will take up about 2/3 of the church so this leaves plenty of room for those who wish to attend the Saturday evening Mass at 4:00.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of New Hampshire is a statewide non-profit organization that recruits and trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the courts. Our primary goal is to ensure that each and every child in the state is permitted to grow up in a safe and permanent home. There are children waiting for someone to speak on their behalf. Your common sense, commitment to children, and a contribution of 15 hours a month will help a child receive a safe, permanent and loving home.
CASA of NH currently has close to 380 volunteers throughout the state who are appointed by judges to serve in the role of guardian at litem for over 1,000 of NH’s children. This represents only 72% of the children who are in need of this service. Raymond Headstart. . . We are Looking for students for the Fall!!! Head Start is a free comprehensive child and family program for preschool aged children, including those with special needs, from families whose income do not exceed the federal guidelines ($20,650 family of four). Head Start provides developmentally appropriate activities and education for children in a classroom setting. Additionally Head Start provides Health & Nutrition Services, Disability Services, Social Services, Family & Community Partnerships, and Parent Involvement & Parenting support. The program runs from September through May, 5 days a week from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Contact the Raymond Center at 895-9223 if you or someone you know is interested in this Fall’s program

Summer Kick Off ‘07

St. Joseph Regional JRHS, Trinity HS and The Revolution Show are proud to bring you Summer Kick Off ’07. The concert will feature nationally known Christian rock bands on Saturday, May 19th. The Bands are:

            The 7 Method

The concert will feature nationally known bands and it is a great opportunity to introduce youth to Christian Rock. We welcome youth groups and a have a reduced price of $10.00 for groups of 10 or more.
    You can purchase tickets in advance by calling St. Joe’s at 624-4811 and speaking with Linda Goodno.
    We are also still looking for sponsors for the event to help cover our production costs. If your organization is interested in becoming involved in that manner please contact Christine Davis at 624-4811 ext. 12. Sponsorships start as low as $100.00

Trinity High School Spring Open House for 6th and 7th graders on Tuesday May 15th, from 7 to 9 PM. Late applicants to the 9th grade and transfer students are also welcome. “Meet THS Night” will enable you to view our school facilities, meet our faculty and students and see what we mean by “It’s about values. . .It’s about program. . .It’s about people . . .A great beginning to a great future!”
    At the same time you may register for our 7th grade practice exam which is being held on Saturday, May 19th, from 8:30 to 11:30. Late applicants may also take their exam at this time. Doors open at 8:15 am. Pre-registration is required. You may do so by downloading the Admissions Exam form on our website at www.trinity-hs.org and mailing it to Trinity High School, Admissions Office, 581 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104, or by calling the Admissions Office at 668-1779 to register or with any questions. News from the CYA (Catholic Young Adults)
    Catholic Young Adults is for any parishioner between the ages of 20 and 39. Please join us at our next meeting, next month, at St. Paul’s Church from 6:30-8:00 pm. May 9th will be our last meeting of the season. Come bring a dozen cookies for a cookie swap and we will be discussing what’s ahead for next season. Called to Servant Leadership . . .is the Standard Level, three-year Lay Ministry Formation Program intended for those in parish leadership such as catechetical leaders; youth ministry, RCIA, and outreach coordinators; those who train liturgical ministers; and those who prepare couples for marriage. On Thursday, March 22, 2007 there will be an Information Meeting from 7 – 9 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, 197 Dover Point Rd, Dover, NH 03820, for those who are interested in learning more about the Called to Servant Leadership Program.
