Grades K – High School
All children from grade K – 10 must register.
The registration does not roll
over from one year to the next. You can pick up a form in the
back of the church or you can visit the parish office Monday – Thursday
during office hours or give us a call at 483-8481 and ask us to mail
you a form. We would be happy to do this
Grades K- 3 The children in
grades K – 3 attend classes during the weekend liturgies. We use
a Lectionary Catechesis which is based on the Gospel of the week.
Kindergarten students are not obliged to attend regularly.
However, beginning with grade l, students must attend classes on a
weekly basis as the program for 1st Communion is a two year
program. It is vital that students continue with their Christian
Formation even after their 1st Communion. This year’s
program will
begin on September
15, 2007
Grades 4 – 10 + This year’s
program for the Generations of Faith begins on Sunday, October 7,
2007 at 4:00 pm. This program is designed for both parents
and children. Parents are asked to attend the sessions as they
have the opportunity to refresh their memory on important matters of
the faith . Please join us on one Sunday per month. Next
Month's session is on Nov. 4th. All Confirmation candidates
are expected to attend all sessions.

Attention all Parishioners:
Religious Education teachers
needed
Our parish is in great need of men and women who
would like to give some of their time to the ministry of Christian
Formation. We are in need of teachers for the younger children as
well as the middle school aged program. If you think you could
assist us in this important ministry but you have questions or
reservations, please call Lorette at 483-8481 or feel free to send us
an e-mail at stpaulcandia@comcast.net
The commitment for the younger children is
simply an
8 week session.
Question of the Week
31st
Sunday in Ordinary Time
Theme: (Reaching Out to All)
Reading 1: Wisdom 11:22-12:2 (Mercy on All )
Reading 2: 2Thes. 1:11-2:2, (Don’t Be Shaken)
Gospel: Luke 19:1-10 (Zacchaeus)
Question
for Adults:
Who do I know that could use my helping hand or listening ear?
This question primarily relates to those people with whom we do not
have a “natural” affiliation or attraction. For one reason or
other, we are not attracted to these people. However, they may be
in need of our help. They may need someone to listen to them or
support them through a grieving process or to simply be there when they
feel alone. Do we know anyone like that? Perhaps this week
would be a great time to take inventory or our friends and
acquaintances. Let’s check our list to see if there is anyone
that needs us a little more than the others? Or, even better, is
there anyone that is not on the list that could be?
Question
for the Teens: Reaching out to others is not always
the most popular thing to do, especially for teens. Have you ever
considered reaching out to someone in your school or on a team or club
but decided not to because you were afraid of what your friends would
say? Why is it so difficult for us to reach out to others if
they are not in the in crowd? What difference does it make if
others don’t agree with us on our choice of acquaintances? Does
it make us a better person for ignoring the needs of others simply
because others don’t agree with our decisions? How often have you
reached out to someone that was not popular? What happened?
Would you do it again? Why or why
not?
Question
for Children? How can I be a better friend to others
this week?
Once children are of school age,
they become very attuned to having friends. This becomes more and
more or a priority as they mature. Being a good friend is very
important for them. This is an excellent time to bring up the
idea that friendship means we need to think of the other person’s needs
before our own. We cannot be fair weathered friends and expect
friends to stay around. Also, you might want to challenge them to
reach out to someone they had not thought about but who might need a
friend.
Are You a Caregiver for a disabled parent,
spouse, relative or friend? Do you have questions on ordinary or
extraordinary care? Living Will? Durable Power of
Attorney? Advanced Medical Directives? Patient
Rights?
Bring these and any other concerns on ‘End of Life’
issues to our seminar on ‘End of Life’ issues presented by Dr. Peter
Cataldo, an expert in the field. Dr. Cataldo has been Director of
Research at the National Catholic Bioethics Center, in Philadelphia,
since 1991. He will be speaking on Thursday evening, November
15th, at 7 pm at St. Joseph’s Church in Salem, NH (in St. Julie
Hall). Please call Joan at 893-3960 if you would like any
additional info
How to Help. . . Recovery from child sexual
abuse is a process, but the most important factor is how we respond to
a victim of sexual abuse. Believing the child (or adult) and
treating him or her with kindness, care, and concern is a major step
towards recovery. Intervention by an experienced professional is
essential. The Diocese of Manchester’s Office for Healing and
Pastoral Care offers pastoral support, outreach, and professional
assistance to persons who report having been sexually abused by people
representing the church.
You may contact the Office for Healing and Pastoral
Care of the Diocese of Manchester at 603-668-0014, ext. 233 or
1-800-475-5585
Wheels for the World

them.
Please help us help those in need by donating used collapsible
wheelchairs and walkers, metal canes an crutches.
Volunteers to help pick up donated items are also
needed. If you
can help or for more information call: Cindy Leonard, New England
Regional Coordinator at 508-653-3743 or Nancy Maloney, New Hampshire
Coordinator at 603-587-0065. Nancy lives in Candia.
