Notice for All Participants of Generations
of Faith: Our last session on April 13th will be
held at St. Peter Parish together with the parishioners of St.
Peter. As we did last year, we would like to end the session with
a Pot Luck Supper. This event ended our year of faith formation
in a very wholesome manner. If you are able, please consider
joining us for this supper together. If you think you can bring
something for the supper, please contact the following by email. laurajeannh@comcast.net
or rjglosner@comcast.net
Simply tell them what you are planning on bringing. If you
prefer, you can contact them first in order to ask them what is most
needed. You can bring a salad, a dessert, or a casserole of some
sort.
Notice for Confirmation
Candidates
There will be a rehearsal for
all Confirmation candidates on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 12 noon,
immediately following the 11:00 am Mass. The rehearsal will take
place at St. Peter Church in Auburn. All candidates must be
present and must be accompanied by their sponsor. If the sponsor
is unable to attend then a parent or adult must come in their
stead. If we are able to begin promptly at noon time, the

Grades K – High School
All children from grade K – 10 must register.
The registration does not roll
over from one year to the next. You can pick up a form in the
back of the church or you can visit the parish office Monday – Thursday
during office hours or give us a call at 483-8481 and ask us to mail
you a form. We would be happy to do this
Grades K- 3 The children in
grades K – 3 attend classes during the weekend liturgies. We use
a Lectionary Catechesis which is based on the Gospel of the week.
Kindergarten students are not obliged to attend regularly.
However, beginning with grade l, students must attend classes on a
weekly basis as the program for 1st Communion is a two year
program. It is vital that students continue with their Christian
Formation even after their 1st Communion. This year’s
program will
begin on September
15, 2007
Grades 4 – 10 + This year’s
program for the Generations of Faith begins on Sunday, October 7,
2007 at 4:00 pm. This program is designed for both parents
and children. Parents are asked to attend the sessions as they
have the opportunity to refresh their memory on important matters of
the faith . Please join us on one Sunday per month. Next
Month's session is on April 13th. All Confirmation candidates
are expected to attend all sessions.

Question of the Week
2nd
Sunday of Easter
Theme: (The Community of Believers)
Reading 1: Acts 2:42-47 (Awe Came Upon Everyone)
Reading 2: Peter: 1:3-9 (Hope Through the Resurrection)
Gospel: John 20: 19-31 (Peace Be With You)
Question
for Adults:
When I experience doubts, what helps me strengthen my faith? The
experience of doubt in our faith is a very common experience.
Believing in a God that is no “visible” is difficult enough but when
things get hard and life presents us with overwhelming circumstances,
we cannot help but question our faith. In times such as these we
need help to strengthen our weak faith. Prayer plays a very
important role in our faith life. When we see ourselves buckling we
must not forget to turn to God in prayer. Another tool that can
often help us is a spiritual guide. We should all have a person
to whom we can turn for help in the face of doubt. What other
means do you have in these situations? Take some time to reflect
on this this week.
Question
for Children?
How can my faith in Jesus be of help to others?
Children have a very innocent way of sharing their faith without
knowing it. This is not the question however. Perhaps
you might want to sit down with your child and discuss ways by which
they can be good to others simply because they love Jesus. There
will inevitably be times when others will notice these acts and it will
help the others to grow in their own faith.
What is the purpose of Church
Music?
For centuries the church has had its own special
kind of music. One type of music which dates back to the 6th
century is known as Gregorian Chant. It was used by monks during
their prayer time. It could easily be sung without accompaniment
and was suitable to the singing of the psalms which was a daily ritual
for the monks. During the Middle Ages and the Baroque and
Classical eras there was much music that was composed by the great
classical musicians. Today, much of this has been lost.
Church music today seems to focus of hymn singing accompanied by the
organ or other instruments. All of Church music, however, has one
purpose, to inspire, lift the soul and lead us to prayer.
Surprisingly for many, its purpose has never been to entertain.
