The
seven sacraments touch all the stages and all
the important moments of Christian life: they give birth and increase
healing
and mission to the Christian's life of faith. In order to live life
fully we
celebrate the sacraments.
-
BAPTISM: In preparation for their child's initiation
into the
Church,
parents are required to meet with the Pastoral Associate or to attend a
group
Baptism Catechesis program prior to the Baptism date. Baptisms for
infants and children under age 7 are celebrated on the 2nd Sunday of
each month at 1:00 PM unless otherwise decided. Please contact
the rectory at least 4 weeks in advance to schedule your child's
Baptism.
-
FIRST HOLY EUCHARIST: First Communion is scheduled
each spring for children
who are enrolled and will have completed 2 years in our religious
education
program.
-
FIRST RECONCILIATION: This Sacrament is scheduled each
December for
children who are enrolled in their second year of Religious Education.
-
RECONCILIATION: Anyone wishing to receive this
sacrament may do so on
Saturday from 3:15-3:45 or by appointment in Candia. In Chester the
priest is
available before the Mass between 5:15 and 5:30p.m. The Reconciliation
Room is
at the rear of the church in Candia.
-
CONFIRMATION: This sacrament is available to H.S.
students who have
completed two years in our parish Confirmation program. It is usually
celebrated
in the Spring time during the Easter season.
-
MARRIAGE: Couples planning to receive this sacrament
must call the
rectory at least six months in advance to schedule an interview. Both
churches are available for weddings. Engaged couples have the
opportunity to participate in several marriage perparation programs
offered by the Catholic Church in our local area.
- ANOINTING
OF THE SICK: Please do not hesitate to contact the parish
office to inform us if someone is ill, homebound or dying.
